According to Department statement: Deputy Minister David Mahlobo welcomed Deputy President Paul Mashatile at Qunu Village, Eastern Cape to witness the resuscitation of the Qunu Noyiya water scheme.
The Deputy President is on a working visit in King Santa Dalindyebo Local Municipality to address service delivery challenges affecting the community of Qunu.
The walkabout aimed to assess challenges faced by the community, providing updates on the water supply, and ensuring that the newly built reservoir fulfills its purpose of delivering clean water to households in Qunu.
Following the visit, the DP and DM Mahlobo engaged with the community on the current state of water services, and discuss solutions to improve supply.
This initiative forms part of government’s ongoing commitment to enhance access to reliable water services, address backlogs, and ensure sustainable service delivery within the area.
