Every day across the country, there is always a case of child rights valuation committed by their next of kin.
Those incidents occurred more often at deep rural areas across the country and there is no justice being served.
As far as at urban areas such incidents take places, the stats shows that out of 10 scale the abuse might be 3 out 10.
They are mothers and father’s who abuse their children because of they are no longer in a relationship with partner(biological parent) of that child/children’s.
Other stats shows that children suffers abuse from step parent (Mother/Father), because that he/she provide/put food on the table.
Department of Social Development have highlighted that their initiative is yielding the positive results at KwaZulu-Natal.

Child Protection Month2026 was officially launched on 3 May 2026 in the Zululand District Municipality, KwaZulu Natal, a rural area with high reported levels of child abuse, indicating the campaign’s focus and support to vulnerable communities.
This year’s Child Protection Month campaign shines a spotlight on statutory rape and teenage pregnancy.
The campaign is grounded in Section 28 of the South African Constitution and a range of child protection laws, that reaffirm the state’s obligation to protect children’s rights and ensure their wellbeing and development.

NB: Stats showed that many streets kids are out there because of the mistreatment they get at homes.
