According to SANDF: The South African National Defence Force’s other service, namely the South African Military Health Services attached to 1 South African Tank Regiment, deployed in Limpopo Province saves a life.

Mr Alfred Chikungu, an Undocumented Person from Zimbabwe, who had illegally crossed into South Africa, was mugged by his own Countrymen otherwise known along the South Africa/Zimbabwe border as ‘goma-gomas’.

Mr Chikungu’s left eye was badly injured by these criminals. Alerted by Mr Chikungu’s heart-rending screams, our soldiers discovered upon asking him that the ‘goma-gomas’ even stole his cellphone.

After being stabilized by our medic (soldier), Lance Corporal Molatelo Ebenezer Choung, Mr Chikungu was transported to Musina Hospital for further treatment if necessary, but this time under the Border Management Authority members since Mr Chikungu had no legal authority to be within the South African borders.
