The Capricorn District Municipality is proud to announce that we have once again achieved a Clean Audit outcome for the 2024/2025 financial year, as confirmed by the Auditor-General of South Africa during the Council Meeting.
This achievement reflects our continued commitment to good governance, accountability, and responsible financial management in serving the people of Capricorn District.
On behalf of Council, the Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo wishes to commend the Municipal Manager, the Executive Management Team, and all employees of the municipality for their dedication, discipline, and adherence to sound financial and administrative practices.
Mayor stated “This Clean Audit is not an accident; it is the result of consistent hard work, strong internal controls, and a culture of compliance that we have built over time.”
She further said she would also like to acknowledge the role played by the Audit Committee, Internal Audit Unit, MPAC, and Council, whose oversight and guidance continue to strengthen the systems and ensure that public resources are protected and used for their intended purpose.
This Clean Audit outcome gives confidence to our communities, government partners, and investors that Capricorn District Municipality can be trusted to manage public funds responsibly while accelerating service delivery in areas such as water services, disaster management, skills development, and economic growth.
She further highlighted that such success must be celebrated and the same work[Clean Audit] must be kept up.
Teffo said “As we celebrate this milestone, we remain mindful that good audit outcomes must translate into real improvements in the lives of our people.
“We therefore recommit ourselves to working harder, faster, and smarter to ensure that every cent spent contributes to building sustainable, safe, and prosperous communities.”
