South African Police Service are investigating the shooting in Mkhuhlu

According to a report, members were conducting routine patrols in the Mkhuhlu area when they received information about a shooting incident and they proceeded to the scene.

Upon arrival, members found a white Isuzu bakkie with Mpumalanga registration number plates, with multiple bullet holes.

The rear window was also damaged. Police discovered the lifeless body of a 56-year-old male inside the vehicle.

It was during this time when a case was opened and preliminary investigations revealed that the victim had just left his home when he was attacked, few metres from his house.

According to the statement released ‘Police also found some spent cartridges for high calibre firearm at the scene’.

The motive for the killing is unknown at this stage and will form part of the investigation. No arrest have been made so far but the investigation is ongoing.
