The Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) has officially reopened the Vanderbijlpark Library on Friday, 19 September 2025, following a temporary closure for Phase 2 of refurbishment project.
The latest upgrade phase focused on the library’s foyer and reference section, creating a more modern, welcoming, and conducive environment for reading, research, and study.
According to the Assistant Manager Library and Information Services, Ms. Moji Tshabalala, the project was fast-tracked to ensure completion ahead of the upcoming examination period, allowing students and community members to benefit from the improved facilities without disruption.
The municipality expresses gratitude to members of the public for their patience during the closure and further encourages residents to make use of the library as a hub for learning, reading, and community growth.
The Vanderbijlpark Library is now fully[opened for each an everyone]operational and ready to welcome visitors.
