After starting the campaign on perfect note both locally and international (UEFA Champions League), kompany’s side seems to find it more difficult to maintain the same performance.
Just like yesterday Bayern Munich showed some frustration moment during their fixture against SL Benfica even though they managed to grab all points.
Thanks to Jamal Musiala’s goal in the 67th minute of play secured the three points, as they managed to end back-back defeat in Champions League.
Kompany together with his troops played this match after suffering a defeated against the likes off Aston Villa and Barcelona.
The results came at the right time as the German giant moved to a 17th spot after four games and managed to accumulate 6 points and scoring 11 goals while Conciding 7 goals.
On yesterday’s meeting with SL Benfica the German giant showed their characters as the managed to register 10 shots on target to Benfica’s 0 and had the lion’s share of possession with a numerical total of 74%, completing 872 passes to Benfica’s 314.
During the post conference match Kompany highlighted that he don’t mind that much about score line as they managed to collect three points.
He said “Sometimes it’s good to win like this, even though of course we always prefer to win by 3,4 or 5 goals.
“I thought we controlled the game very well. Sometimes the final pass doesn’t always work. We didn’t score an early goal, so we knew we had to stay calm and patient. We did that well.
“It was a good Champions League game and a good win.”
Kompany went on to express his desire after his side managed to keep a clean sheet for fourth time in their last five matches.
He said “There’s no particular secret for that. Since the game against Tottenham in pre-season, I felt that the boys are capable of that.
“Now we have to stay calm, we did well so far but we can always do better. There are always some adjustments.
“I have confidence in my players. And we also have a few other good defenders who are unavailable at the moment.”
Vincent Kompany together with his troops will be hoping to produce another brilliant display when they takes on FC. St. Pauli on Saturday, kickoff set at 16:30.
Currently Bayern Munich are at the top of the table with 23 points out of nine(9) games played and are three points ahead of second place RB Leipzig.
