According to Municipality: Municipal Councillors Daniel Mongalo and Esrom Setho, together with the Lephalale Traffic Police, officially launched the Festive Season Road Safety Campaign this morning at OR Thabo Road.
The initiative was conducted in partnership with the Limpopo Traffic Police, Lephalale SAPS, and Exxaro.
The campaign aimed to enhance road safety during the festive season by monitoring traffic flow in and out of Lephalale and promoting responsible driving behaviour among motorists.
Municipality further emphasized that: During the operation, road users were reminded of the importance of adhering to road safety regulations,
including refraining from driving under the influence of alcohol, avoiding the use of cell phones while driving, observing speed limits, wearing seatbelts, and ensuring that children are secured in appropriate child restraints.
mA total of at least 200 vehicles were stopped for monitoring and road safety compliance checks as part of the launch activities.
The Municipality and its partners reiterated their commitment to working collaboratively to reduce road accidents and ensure that all road users arrive safely at their destinations during the festive season.
