The Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety advises motorists of a full road closure on the N1 near Polokwane following a head-on collision involving two vehicles.
Emergency services[Trafficks and paramedics] have arrived at scene. Details of the crash are still being confirmed.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES – USE R101 VIA MOKOPANE: Motorists travelling from Polokwane heading Pretoria/Johannesburg [N1 South]: Divert at Polokwane and use the R101 through Mokopane to rejoin the N1 South.
Motorists travelling from Pretoria/Johannesburg going to Polokwane [N1 North]: Take the Mokopane off-ramp and join the R101 via Mokopane to access Polokwane.
MOTORISTS ARE ADVISED:
The R101 is now carrying all N1 traffic. Expect heavy congestion and delays through Mokopane.
Please exercise patience, keep a safe following distance, and obey all instructions from traffic officers on scene.We will provide updates once the N1 is reopened.
