Over the weekend Namibian Netball National team organized a successful trail for their male tem ahead of Africa Cup, set to take place at the Dome in Swakopmund from 9 to 14 December.
The event will afford male and female opportunity to showcase their talent not locally but even at major stages.
The Africa Cup is expected to attract close to 10 countries, featuring both male and female teams eager to compete for the title.
The president of Namibian Netball (NN) Rebekka Goagoses, confirmed that the exact number of clubs will be sorted out this week while they have sent out invitations to other countries and teams.
Goagoses said “We are currently waiting for confirmation through Africa Netball regarding which countries will be competing.”
It’s not the first time when Namibia host such competition, even back in 2019 they (Namibia) hosted African Cup and they had no Male team back then.
Namibia fulfilled the requirement set forth by World Netball, while other surrounding countries will be joining the competition using male teams.
The aim for the competition is to set the new bar for male Netball that will be competing in the upcoming future Olympic Games.
The inclusion of male teams in the Africa Cup not only aligns with these global standards, but also aims to inspire a new generation of male players in Namibia.
With the tournament just weeks away, the selected players will have the opportunity to train intensively as they prepare to represent Namibia.
