According to SAPS statement: Two suspects were arrested, and a firearm with ammunition was recovered shortly after a business robbery at a spaza shop in Addo on Tuesday, 10 February 2026, at about 08:30.
On the same day, at about 10:00, police arrested two suspects and recovered a firearm with ammunition.
It is alleged that police promptly responded to a complaint of a business robbery in progress and, upon arrival at the scene, immediately followed up on information regarding the direction in which the two suspects fled on foot.In less than two hours, police located their hideout in a nearby bushy area.
The two men, aged 22 and 35, were found in possession of an unlicensed firearm and were later positively linked to the business robbery that occurred earlier at the spaza shop in Valencia, Addo.
According to reports, the suspects stormed into the shop in Valencia, Addo, held the owner at gunpoint, and stole an undisclosed amount of cash, two cellphones, and cigarettes before fleeing the scene on foot.
The suspects are expected[to take stand on the box] to appear in the Kirkwood Magistrate’s Court soon.
