The Mayor of Lephalale underlined the importance of service delivery to the people

The Lephalale Local Municipality successfully hosted an Integrated Development Plan (IDP) Representative Forum in Segale Village.

This event convened sector departments, key stakeholders, and community representatives to deliberate on the municipality’s core development priorities.

Held in full compliance with the Municipal Systems Act, the forum fulfilled legislative mandates for community participation in the planning and execution of council programmes.

The primary focus was a comprehensive review of the IDP and the proposed 2026/27 financial year budget, ensuring that community needs and priorities guide municipal planning.

PMS Manager Mr Ditlhokwa Matsoma presented the 2025/26 Mid-Year Performance Report and detailed the IDP Process Plan implementation, underscoring the municipality’s dedication to transparent and inclusive governance.

Acting Director of Infrastructure, Mr Rhudzani Ngobeli provided updates on 2025/26 capital projects, including progress on the Letlora access road and low-level bridge developments.

The Chief Financial Officer, Ms Lesego Matlwa, outlined the municipality’s financial position, including budget updates and proposed tariff adjustments.

The Mayor, Cllr Aaron Mokgetle affirmed that the IDP Representative Forum is important for fostering collaborative planning, aligning government services, and advancing integrated service delivery across Lephalale.

Mokgetle highlighted the need for development strategies that are inclusive and responsive to community aspirations.

The Mayor further assured stakeholders of the completion of all ongoing projects and announced forthcoming water and road infrastructure initiatives.
