Phalaborwa Mayor is on the ground finalising the cost of the damage caused by flood

South Africa like other African countries experience the seriousness of heavy floods across the part of the country.

Provinces such as Limpopo and Mpumalanga are the most damaged within the country and many families have lost their homes due to the floods.

Even the National Kruger Park was amongst the affected places and it was closed for few days due to the floods.

Other Mayors and MEC have took a further steps to uneasy the pressure from the affected families and areas.

Earlier on today Mayor of Ba Phalaborwa Local Municipality Mrs Mokobi, was on the ground assessing the affected areas.

Here is the statement released by Municipality:

Thabitha Mokobi, met with PMC leadership today to present a disaster status report(the floods damage).

Although PMC was also affected by the recent flooding, the company has committed to assisting the Municipality in restoring damaged infrastructure and essential services.

These joint intervention efforts are already at an advanced stage(Things are set to be concluded).

Mayor Cllr Merriam Malatji stated: “As the municipality, we appreciate our relationship with PMC and thank them for committing to work alongside us to support our communities.”
