Polokwane Municipality upgraded the road at Meteor Avenue in Bendor Polokwane CBD

In the unfolding story of a municipality hard at work, progress is no longer a matter of narration alone, it is becoming a lived experience, a daily encounter and a visible imprint on the ground.

This is best captured in the candid reflection of Ward 25 Councillor, Cllr Johan Retters, who recently shared after traversing the newly completed Meteor Avenue in Bendor:

“It was a very busy week for me and today for the first time I drove on the newly tarred Meteor Street.

No need for 4X4 Low Range anymore.

Thank you Polokwane Municipality and the contractor. There are many more roads to attend to and we are slowly making progress.

All that is outstanding is the white markings but it will be done.”

Beyond the humour lies a powerful truth: delivery is becoming visible enough to be tested on wheels, not only measured in reports.

Where once there were rough stretches demanding patience and rugged suspension, there is now smooth tar affirming that transformation is tangible.

This is the essence of Visible Progress, Tangible Delivery. It is found in the lived testimony of elected representatives, in the daily experiences of communities and in the gradual but undeniable reshaping of the municipal landscape.

Indeed, while challenges remain and other roads still await attention, the trajectory is clear: step by step, street by street, Polokwane is moving from intention to implementation and from aspiration to arrival.

In the words often attributed to Winston Churchill, “However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results.”

In Polokwane under the leadershipand guidance of ExecutiveMayorCllrMakoroJohnMpe, the results are now quite literally beneath the tyres.
