Crisis of water in Johannesburg has been resolved

South African citizens keeps on experiencing the lack of water across the different areas(Half part of the Country).

Many Province(mostly villages)across the country have went to long period of time without water supply.

In Limpopo areas such as Tzaneen Nkowangkowa have spent a period of 3 months without water meanwhile areas such as Mentz, Ga-Makanye, Thoka and Nobody their tap are dry and now Seshego is amongst those areas.

In the past few days Johannesburg(the big city) has also experienced the same thing[ shortage of water supply].

But early on today the Municipality of Johannesburg has confirmed that the crisis has been resolved.

Here is the statement released by Johannesburg City:

The City of Johannesburg’s water systems have recovered and are supplying normally, following the third and final phase of the Rand Water maintenance.

The 54-hour maintenance commenced on Tuesday with a temporary shutdown of water services in parts of the city.

Municipality stated “[Full] restoration in certain parts can take up to several days.“ Feed for the Braamfischerville Reservoir [is] back to normal and supplying adequately.

“Meadowlands Reservoir is also back to normal and supplying fairly. However, the direct feed has not yet fully recovered as full restoration in certain parts can take longer.

“Furthermore, the Doornkop Reservoir… direct feed [is] back to normal, the Fleurhof Reservoir is supplying adequately, while the Roodepoort Deep direct feed is now supplying normally.

City also emphasised that: “Johannesburg Water will monitor the restoration phase and attend to airlocks.”
