Department of Employment and Labour revealed the closing date for their bursary

Most of the learners usually take gap year after completing their matrix due to the lack of funds into college and universities.

Even though we have minority of funds to schoolers across the country, some of the learners are still left out cause of some of the bursary don’t cover certain subjects/models.

Earlier on today Department of Employment and Labour announced that they have opened spot to cover fees for the learners.

Here is the statement released by Department:

The Compensation Fund Invites unemployed COID beneficiaries with a permanent disablement (PWD), their dependents and the dependents of fatally injured employees to apply for the Compensation Fund External Bursary opportunity.

The applicants must have been accepted at a recognised Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) College, Community Education and Training (CET) College or Higher Education Institution (HEI).

If you do not receive any response from the Compensation Fund within two months after submitting your application, consider your application (as likely) unsuccessful.

The bursary coverage: Tuition fees, Prescribed Study Material, Monthly Stipend and Accommodation.

The award is renewable every year – for the duration of the study programme, depending on the availability of funds and academic performance.

The bursary is open throughout the 2026 academic year; however, applicants are encouraged to send their applications on/before the 31 March 2026
