Limpopo’s Department of Agriculture aim to tackle the high rate of youth unemployment

The number of unemployment people in South Africa is shocking and devastating and to youth it becomes frustrating.

Many young people turns into criminals activities because they don’t have chance to provide for their families.

As such results the killing rise up and the kidnapping also goes up as some of those people sees opportunity onto it.

Meanwhile the youth also turns their lives into drugs cycle as they feel like they are useless/un-looked for terms of the jobs opportunities.

Earlier on today Department of Agriculture and Rural Development have pointed the key point to tackle the youth unemployment.

Here is the statement released by Department:

The Provincial Economic Growth Advisory Council (PEGAC), led by Committee Chairperson], today, Wednesday 15 April 2026, conducted an oversight visit to the Mara Research Station one of our catalytic projects to unlock Limpopo’s agricultural economy.

Mara Research Station is a key Livestock Institute of the Limpopo Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, located in the Vhembe District.

This visit advances the priorities of the 7th Administration and PEGAC’s mandate to drive inclusive economic growth, reduce unemployment, and eradicate poverty through targeted, high-impact interventions.

It forms part of preparations for the upcoming high-level PEGAC meeting chaired by Hon. Premier Dr. Phophi Ramathuba and the Working Group on Agriculture led by MEC Nakedi Kekana.We are building a Limpopo that works for all.
