Phalaborwa Local Municipality urged citizens to not use firecrackers reckless

With few hours left to go before we enter into a new which is 2026, Phalaborwa Local Municipality urged their people to be careful when they celebrate new year.

In the past South African hospitality has been admitting the patient whom are injured by firecrackers from different province.

Earlier on today Phalaborwa Local Municipality has pleaded with people to be extra cautious during firecrackers:

The Ba-Phalaborwa Local Municipality hereby reminds all residents that the use of firecrackers on 31 December 2025 must be conducted responsibly and in accordance with municipal by-laws and safety regulations.

Residents are advised that excessive noise and the irresponsible use of firecrackers cause serious distress to domestic animals, livestock, and wildlife, and may also pose risks to public safety, property, and the environment. Loud explosions can negatively affect vulnerable persons, including children, the elderly, and individuals with sensitivities.

Residents are therefore requested to:*Restrict the use of firecrackers to permitted times and areas Refrain from using firecrackers near homes, animals, hospitals, and environmentally sensitive areas*Ensure that firecrackers are used safely and responsibly*Consider animal-friendly and safer alternatives to celebrate the New YearFailure to comply with applicable by-laws may result in enforcement action.

The Municipality appeals to all residents to work together to ensure a safe, peaceful, and considerate New Year celebration.
