Each and every Municipality are encountering the issues of no payments from their customers and the business in and around the city.
Here is the statement released by Municipality:
During a routine check, the municipality discovered that some customer accounts were missing the required service deposits.
Those deposits have now been added to the affected accounts (customers were notified by SMS).
Residential:
Water – R1 244.43
Electricity – R3 760.68
Business:
Water – R6 225.12
Electricity – R7 522.74

If paying at once feels like too much, you can arrange to pay over four months at Counters 7 & 8.
The municipality has revealed how people should/when to settle down their bills: the deposit will be rebated before 15 March 2026.
