Limpopo’s Department of Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure have warned the citizens regarding scam jobs

As country currently faces the high number of unemployment across the country, they are some scammers takes advantage of the situation.

In the past 2-4 years, South Africans most especially women have found themselves into worst situations due to the unemployment.

Currently they are South Africans whom are kidnapped/catfished by those scammers who are mostly from Thailand.

The Department last year warned the citizens to stop applying for online jobs that doesn’t have location/website.

Earlier on today Department of Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure have reminded the citizens to be extra vigilant regarding the scam jobs.

Here is the statement released by Department:

The Limpopo Department of Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure wishes to alert members of the public about scams targeting unsuspecting job seekers, where individuals are impersonating officials of the Department in an attempt to solicit money in exchange for employment opportunities.

Recent incidents have been recorded in the Collins Chabane Local Municipal area, in the Vhembe District.

Members of the public should note that the Department does not request or accept any form of payment for employment or any other opportunity.

All recruitment processes are conducted transparently and in accordance with applicable public service prescripts.

Members of the public are urged to exercise caution, remain vigilant, and not to fall victim to such fraudulent activities.

Anyone approached with demands for payment related to employment is encouraged to immediately report the matter to relevant law enforcement agencies.

The risk unit of the department is also giving this matter all the attention it deserves. The Department further advises job seekers to verify all employment-related information through official departmental communication channels.
