Cape Town has been the most dominant province/areas across the country to have high number of crime activities.
In the past four to Five years the areas such as Khayelitsha and Cape flats have recorded high number of killings.
Approximately total number of 20/30 per day people were reported to have been killed between those two areas.
Even the police officers were reportedly being killed almost every day between those two areas in Cape Town.
Earlier on today SAPS confirmed that they will send National Commissioner Mr Masemola to be amongst amongst the crew that will over see the end of crime gang.

The National Commissioner of SAPS, General Fannie Masemola will lead crime prevention operations in Cape Town today, 13 February 2026.
General Masemola will be joined by Director Generals in the Justice Crime Prevention and Security Cluster (JCPS), the Deputy National Commissioner for Policing, Lt Gen Tebello Mosikili, the Acting Deputy National Commissioner for Crime Detection, Lieutenant General Khosi Senthumule and the Provincial Commissioner for Western Cape, Lieutenant General Thembisile Patekile.
