30 year old Eldine Swarts has sentenced after stabbing Jim Seokamo

Justice has been served on behalf of the family of the late Jim Seokamo (51), following the conviction and #sentencing of Eldine Swarts (30), for murder.

On 27 April 2025, the accused fatally stabbed the deceased with a knife at Ditloung New Stands in Olifantshoek, after he informed her that he no longer wanted to continue the relationship.

The deceased was rushed to Olifantshoek Hospital, where he later succumbed to the stab wound.

The accused was arrested by the police on the same day as the incident. She was subsequently released on bail, pending the finalisation of the court proceedings.

On Tuesday, 14 April 2026, the Olifantshoek Regional Court convicted and sentenced the accused to eight (8) years’ imprisonment, of which three (3) years are wholly suspended for a period of five (5) years.

The Acting District Commissioner of the John Taolo Gaetsewe District, Brigadier Kenneth Baloyi, commended the Investigating Officer, Detective Sergeant Kagisho Grootboom of the Olifantshoek Detectives, for his thorough investigation, which has ensured that a violent perpetrator is removed from society.
